Privacy Policy of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA®)
NEMA values your privacy and your right to control your personal data that has been provided to NEMA.
This Privacy Policy applies to our collection and use of personally identifiable information ("personal data") that we may receive from you, your employer, or other entity with which you are associated.

Types of Personal Data We May Collect and Process
Personal data includes information relating to natural persons ("individuals") who can be identified or who are identifiable, directly from the information in question; or who can be indirectly identified from that information in combination with other information. - Your photograph or a photograph that includes you as part of a group of persons

- Your communications through the NEMA Action Center on NEMA's website, which allows individuals to communicate with their elected representatives in Congress on particular issues of interest to the electrical manufacturing and medical imaging industries. These communications are processed by NEMA through it service provider, Quorum, and they are viewable to NEMA and Quorum; however these communications are not shared with others except the elected representatives whom you designated to receive your communication. Please consult the
privacy policy of Quorum to determine their treatment of these communications.
- Online payment information ----
- We do not collect payment online nor do we process information pertaining to credit or debit card accounts used in making online payment for programs (e.g., meetings, seminars, webinars, podcasts and the like) that we sponsor. We use third-party platforms such as Cvent and PayPal to handle this service. Please consult the privacy policies of
Cvent or
PayPal to determine the personal data the third party provider processes in these circumstances. We do receive confirmation from these platforms that a payment has been made for these programs and contact information for the individual who has registered and paid for the program.
- We also do not collect payment online in connection with the sale of our Standards publications nor do we process information pertaining to accounts used in make online payment for these publications. We use third-party distributors to distribute our Standards publications who collect payment from their customer. Please consult their privacy policies to determine the personal data the third-party distributor processes in these circumstances.

- Bank account information provided by you to NEMA in connection with payment for services rendered by NEMA or reimbursement of expenses or payroll processing.

How NEMA Receives Personal Data, How We Use It, and the Business Purposes for Which We Use It
NEMA is a not-for-profit membership trade association based in Rosslyn, Virginia (USA) representing manufacturers of electrical and medical imaging equipment. Our primary services are Standards development, government relations, and reporting business information relating to the electrical and medical imaging industries. NEMA is also a publisher of technical and other information about electrical and medical imaging equipment. In addition to interfacing with NEMA Members in connection with these types of services, we engage with other stakeholders who are interested in these activities from time-to-time. In each case, contact information, including personal data, relating to NEMA Member personnel and other stakeholders is essential to our operations in order to receive and send information to each other and meet other NEMA operational requirements.
NEMA receives personal data about individuals from you, your employer, or other entities with whom you are associated, in a number of ways, and we use that personal data for the following business purposes:
- Member Companies and other firms provide contact information to NEMA about their employees and representatives so they may participate in NEMA association activities and services and/or to receive information from NEMA relevant to the electrical industry and NEMA services. The contact information also informs NEMA who is authorized to act on behalf of the Member Company.
- Individuals likewise provide contact information to NEMA so they may participate in NEMA association activities and services and/or to receive information from NEMA relevant to the electrical industry and NEMA services. Your contact or other employment-related information may be provided by you to NEMA when registering on the NEMA website, downloading information from the NEMA website, by attending a NEMA meeting in person, by providing a business card, by email or written correspondence, verbally, or paying for service provided by NEMA.
- These NEMA activities may include participating in face-to face, electronic, or telephonic meetings for ---
- the development of technical Standards and sharing technical policy information,
- discussing public policy and industry communications,
- economic reporting services, as well as other services provided by NEMA including surveys, marketing efforts, learning programs, facilitating communications between individuals and their elected representatives, recording in writing participation at meetings (including conference call meetings), and the receipt of publications, reports, and correspondence.
- The NEMA activities described above may include activities associated with NEMA's secretariat position or convener of Accredited Standards Committees of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), technical committees of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) or the International Standards Organization (ISO) or the United States Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of either an IEC or ISO committee, the DICOM Standards Committee, the Council for Electrotechnical Harmonization (CANENA), or other Standards development bodies or committees for which NEMA serves as secretariat.
- The NEMA activities described above may include NEMA activities associated with taking on a role as convener or coordinator of third-party coalitions from time to time to conduct research or engage in public policy advocacy.
- NEMA utilizes third-party distributors in connection with the sale of technical publications, including but not limited to NEMA Standards and ANSI Standards. These third-party distributors provide us personal data from time to time with contact information about persons who have purchased these publications so that NEMA may provide additional information about new technical publications that may become available.
- NEMA utilizes social media accounts such as Linked In, Facebook, and Twitter to communicate to the public from time to time about our programs, new publications, and our position on issues of public interest. The identity of followers of the NEMA social media platforms is viewable to NEMA, including any comments a follower may offer. NEMA may respond to those comments through the social media platform, but the social media platforms do not provide us access to contact information.
- Personal data collected from our website may also be used to improve our services to Member Companies or the public and to improve the experience of our website users.
- Personal data, such as data necessary for processing payments or payroll, identifying bank accounts, can be provided by individuals to NEMA.
- Personal data, including contact information you provide on meeting sign-up sheets and photographs, may be collected by NEMA in the course of NEMA meetings or other NEMA activities. Photographs may be received directly from you or your employer or taken at NEMA meetings, which may be reproduced on NEMA's website, in slide presentations, or in NEMA publications that identify you as having participated in a NEMA activity or to personally recognize you for your contribution to NEMA.
- Personal data is used to populate NEMA or other group or committee rosters in order to facilitate communications with the group or committee.
- Personal data can be provided on lists of names provided by other firms or organizations, which may be used by NEMA for informational and marketing purposes.
- Personal data, including your communications of your views on a particular public policy issue to your elected representatives through the
NEMA Action Center, are viewable to NEMA and may be used by NEMA to encourage further engagement by you with elected representatives on a particular policy issue of interest to the electrical manufacturing and medical imaging industries.

Sharing Personal Data with Others
NEMA will not sell your personal data to others.
NEMA may share your personal data with others as part of our trade association activities. In this section of our Privacy Policy we explain the circumstances in which we may share your personal data.
For example, NEMA may collaborate with NEMA Members, other trade associations, non-members, business partners providing services to NEMA including consultants, federal and state governments and their agencies on a variety of technical, public policy, or information sharing activities through correspondence (including digital correspondence), telephone calls, webinars and similar types of communications in which your contact information or employment-related information may be revealed in order to facilitate the collaborative activity and future contacts and communications among the collaborators. NEMA may use your photograph in its publications or other media (both print and online) that are distributed to the public.
NEMA may also disclose your personal data to other companies under contract to NEMA such as IT and communications service providers, testing companies, data management support partners, consulting firms, and other parties providing services to NEMA and bearing a necessary relationship for NEMA to provide its services. The agreements with these firms will limit the purposes for which your personal data can be disclosed and used, and will require your personal data to be adequately safeguarded.
Except as described in this Privacy Policy, NEMA will not share your communications with your elected representatives or banking-related information with others.
NEMA may disclose personal data if we are required to do so by law or if such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, legislation, to respond to any claims, or to protect the rights of NEMA, its Members or the public. We may reveal personal data to attorneys, private investigator organizations or law enforcement agencies if we believe that you are in risk of harm from another, or that you are harming or interfering with other or violating (intentionally or unintentionally) our Terms or Conditions of Use or otherwise violating legal rights.

Surveys
From time to time, we may ask our website visitors to answer survey questions. Surveys generally pertain to the website, and NEMA products or services. Surveys pertaining to the website will not request personal data.
NEMA may survey its Members from time to time about certain subjects relative to NEMA and the electrical manufacturing industry. NEMA will use this information for business purposes or to report the survey results in aggregated or summary form without personally identifying information or attribution.

Anonymous Information
Anonymous information based on your visits to the NEMA website is also gathered by NEMA, which may be used by NEMA or shared with third parties.
